Historic Relief Sculpture Over Door of Chapel
The Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport, MA has an historic chapel at it’s entrance that was being renovated. The sculptural frieze over it’s door, sculpted in the early 1900’s had deteriorated. Using an antique black and white photo as well as remnants of the original frieze, Jeff created a new, cloth draped, chalice flanked by ram’s heads that mirrored the original sculpture. The relief measures 10' wide x 6' high x 1' deep and is a one of a kind piece sculpted in Apoxie® clay.
